Final Project

Aleanna Goes to Ghana (Double-click slides for a closer look!)

After spending a semester learning more about Ghana within historical and cultural contexts, I was afforded the opportunity to spend two weeks in Accra. The purpose of my trip was to experience the country, its institutions, and its people, firsthand. My pre-trip reading and class lectures via Dr. Jennifer Hart and Dr. Irvin D. Reid served as the foundation of the questions I anticipated to ask. The presentation above will take viewers through the metamorphosis of my thought processes. I did not seek out conclusions, merely the ability to learn new things, shift my perspective, and gain the experiences necessary to begin asking more refined questions about Ghana within the confines of my designated topics. The subsequent thoughts thereby developed exist to demonstrate the premise by which a more thorough, long-term research project could perhaps be pursued.
